Welcome to the computers elective program.
Computers I
This will be a fun semester and a chance for 7th and 8th grade students to perfect and/or learn skills necessary to be successful in Middle School and beyond.
The Computer I curriculum includes:
- MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Digital Photo Imaging (Photo Deluxe)
- Frame Animation (Draw + iMovie)
- Web Page Design (Composer)
- Digital movie editing (iMovie)
- File Management over the Network
- Network ethics, copyright (to right --> )
The class is designed to allow beginning, intermediate
and advanced students to work at their own level at their
own pace.
Computers II
Computers II is a higher level course for 8th graders who have completed Computers I or can demonstrate competence in Computers 1 skills. Students are expected to learn and explore more complicated mulitmedia applications and present their learning in an electronic portfolio and a culminating project.
The Computer II curriculum includes:
- Review of multimedia applications including photo editing, graphic design and movie editing.
- Vector Graphic Design (Macromedia Fireworks 8.0)
- Tween animation and layering (Macromedia Flash 8.0)
- Interactive Multimedia (Macromedia Flash and MS PowerPoint
- Advanced Web Page Design (Macromedia Dreamweaver 8.0)
- File Management over the Network
- Network ethics, copyright
This class is designed for advanced, creative, self-directed students to work at their own level at their own pace.
